Waterproof test
Mount the specimen in a ring-shaped holder at a 45° angle to the horizontal, with the center of the specimen positioned a certain distance below the nozzle. Spray the specimen with a predetermined amount of distilled or deionized water. After spraying, compare the specimen's appearance with the description and images of the water-staining phenomenon to determine the fabric's water-staining grade, which is then used to evaluate the fabric's waterproofing properties.
Stain removal test
A certain amount of contaminant is applied to the surface of a textile sample. After the sample is allowed to stand for a period of time or dried, it is cleaned according to specified conditions. The sample's removability is assessed by comparing the color difference between the cleaned and unstained areas using a gray scale. The cleaning method is categorized into washing and wiping, depending on the contaminant.
Oil repellency test
A series of hydrocarbon standard test solutions of varying surface tension are added to the sample surface, and wetting, wicking, and contact angle are observed. The oil repellency rating is indicated by the highest test solution number that did not wet the sample.
UV protection test
Wear resistance, etc.
