UV Protection Testing
Expose the specimen to monochromatic or multi-wavelength UV radiation, collect the total spectral transmitted radiation, determine the total spectral transmittance, and calculate the specimen's Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF). The test may use parallel light beam irradiation with an integrating sphere to collect all transmitted light, or hemispherical irradiation with collection of parallel transmitted light.
Abrasion Resistance
Abrasion resistance refers to the material's ability to resist mechanical wear. Under specified load and rubbing speed conditions, the wear per unit area over unit time. It is expressed by the wear amount of the specimen, which equals the difference between the specimen's mass before and after abrasion divided by the abraded area, and is represented as the reciprocal of the wear rate or wear index under specified friction conditions.
