Tensile Properties
For a fabric specimen of specified dimensions, stretch at a constant rate of extension until rupture. Record the breaking force and breaking elongation. If required, record the pull-out force and pull-out elongation.
Seam Slippage Resistance
Using a pin grip and a standard grip respectively to clamp the specimen, stretch the specimen on a tensile testing machine. Record the force-elongation curves of the specimen clamped by the pin grip and the standard grip on the same horizontal coordinate starting from the same origin. Measure the distance between the two curves at a specified load, parallel to the elongation axis, which is the slippage.
Dimensional Change after Washing
Before washing and drying, condition the specimen in standard atmospheric conditions and measure its dimensions. After washing and drying, recondition and remeasure the dimensions of the specimen, and calculate the dimensional change rate.
