Colorfastness to Water
The textile specimen is combined with two specified single-fiber adjacent fabrics or one multifiber adjacent fabric, immersed in water, squeezed to remove excess moisture, and placed between two plates in a test apparatus under specified pressure. After pressing, the specimen and adjacent fabrics are separated and dried individually. The color change of the specimen and staining of the adjacent fabrics are assessed using a gray scale or spectrophotometer.
Colorfastness to Saliva
The specimen is placed in contact with a specified adjacent fabric, treated with artificial saliva, and excess liquid removed. The assembly is then placed between two plates in a test device under specified pressure and maintained under controlled conditions for a defined period. Afterward, the specimen and adjacent fabric are dried separately, and the color change of the specimen and staining of the adjacent fabric are evaluated using a gray scale or instrumental measurement.
